The dream of his own carpentry business was born when Ola was close to exhaustion in 2017. During this time, Ola and Maria had just had their first child and Ola decided to quit her job and take parental leave. When his son Ash was sleeping, he hung the baby monitor around his neck to work on his dream - a carpentry business. He built a 25-square-metre attic house on the plot, lining the walls with birch plywood for a plastered concrete floor. The windows face a meadow and the light inside is magical whether it's raining or sunny. This was the first carpentry shop, and it was here that both HEXA and CIRKA were created.
Ola Särén Design was created out of a desire to combine functionality with design. Ola wanted to make what he loves, into something someone loves.
OLA SÄRÉN
Ola is the creator of Ola Särén design. He is born a wood worker but also loves to surf, write to-do-lists, discover new places and cook. His favorite movie is "Mr. Magorium's wonder emporium" and just like Mr. Magorium, Ola wears the same pair of shoes all year around from the brand sanuk. This despite the fact we are living in sweden.

Maria is taking care of this web page and social media. She is a sounding board for Ola and take cares of stuff in the box, so Ola can go out of the box. She likes bubbles, silver forging, ceramics, rain and thunder, turquoise and cold showers.

Master trouble shooter for the fax machine
Frank is always with Ola in the workshop for company as well as a creative thinker. He is aslo responsible for the fax machine, we havn't been able to tell him yet that we no longer use a fax machine – he really needs this job.
Frank doesn't have an email, he has no idea of what that is.
